About Project

The FEMA disaster operations center in Winchester is the first commercial building in Frederick County VA to be certified “green” by the U.S. Green Building Council. The structure is outfitted with custom exterior sun control systems provided by Peachtree. In supporting the project we helped the project to earn several LEED credits.

Horizontal Sun Devices – 4,100 s.f. of horizontal screens (three (3) types)
Vertical Sun Devices – 3,300 s.f.

Features:

Integrated vertical and horizontal screens utilizing both standard extruded and custom perforated aluminum plate panels.

Class 2, Clear Anodize, A31

Horizontal Screen Type 1 – 6” elliptical infill blades, 2 ½” diameter fascia blades and bar outriggers
Horizontal Screen Type 2 – 8” elliptical blades with mounting clips
Horizontal Screen Type 3 – 6” elliptical infill blades, 2 ½” diameter fascia and custom tapered bar outriggers
Vertical Screens – 1/8” thick perforated aluminum plate set in the “picture frame” from 2 ½” angle and supporting aluminum tube structure
